Privacy Policy
Trueward is a journal of your goals and habits — some of the most personal information there is. So we built the app to keep it with you, not us. This policy covers both the Trueward app and our website, and explains exactly what that means. Trueward is made by Diversey Labs LLC.
01Who we are
Trueward is made by Diversey Labs LLC, a company based in Illinois, USA, which is responsible for your information under this policy. It applies to the Trueward app for iPhone and iPad and to our website at trueward.app.
02Information we collect
In the app — effectively none. Trueward does not require you to create an account, sign in, or give us an email address to use it. The goals, habits, targets, counts, timers, and notes you enter are stored on your device, not sent to us. We do not operate analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs inside the app, we do not collect device identifiers for tracking, and we do not build a profile of you.
On our website. Like almost every website, our web host keeps standard server logs — such as IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested — to serve the site and keep it secure. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them and Google may receive your IP address under Google's privacy policy. We don't run website analytics or advertising trackers.
03How your data is stored
- On device. Your journal is saved in Trueward's private storage on your iPhone or iPad.
- Optional iCloud sync. If you enable sync, your data is stored in your own private iCloud account and moves between your devices through Apple's encrypted infrastructure. We never see it, and it is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- No Trueward servers. We do not run a backend that holds your habit data. There is no copy of your journal on our side to lose, leak, or sell.
04Sensitive information you choose to enter
Because Trueward is a journal, the notes and reflections you write may include sensitive details — about your health, habits, mood, or anything else you choose to record. That content stays on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own private iCloud. It is never sent to us, and we have no way to read it. You decide what to write and what to keep.
05Purchases
Any purchases you make in Trueward are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive anonymized, aggregated sales information from Apple to run our business — never your name, payment details, or the contents of your journal.
06Notifications
If you choose to enable reminders, Trueward schedules them locally on your device. The content of those reminders is generated on device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.
07What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
- We don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't require an account or a login.
08Your control and choices
Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control of it. You can edit or delete any entry at any time, and deleting the app removes its local data from that device. If you use iCloud sync, you can manage or delete that data from your iCloud settings. You can turn reminders on or off in the app or in your device's notification settings.
09Your privacy rights
Privacy laws in places like the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California give people rights over their personal information — such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port it, and the right not to have it sold or shared. We've built Trueward so there is almost nothing for these rights to reach: we don't hold your habit data on our servers, and we never sell or share your personal information. Your in-app data is already in your hands, and you can exercise full control over it as described above.
If you are in the EEA or UK, any data you sync is processed in your own iCloud by Apple as part of Apple's services, and you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. If you ever have a privacy request, email us at corp@diverseylabs.com and we'll help.
10Children's privacy
Trueward is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, this is true for users of every age.
11Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Trueward handles data, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app as well.
12Contact
Questions about your privacy are always welcome. Reach us at corp@diverseylabs.com and a real person will reply.
